2025 Ram 1500 RHO Release Date

The legendary Ram 1500 TRX, one of the fastest full-size pickups ever produced, is being replaced by the new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO. Although the RHO won't have the awesome performance characteristics of the TRX, it will surpass many other full-size pickups. The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO uses the same platform as the highly respected half-ton Ram 1500 pickup. The new RHO will operate without Rams formidable HEMI® V8 but it will have some off-road features to help compensate for the less powerful engine.

We expect the new Ram 1500 RHO to arrive at our dealership in the third quarter of this year. Here's an early look at the new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO that will soon be available at Don Miller Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Fiat in Madison, WI.

The engine and performance

The Ram 1500 RHO will be equipped with the same 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged Hurricane six-cylinder engine that's being used in the upscale Jeep Wagoneer. It creates 540 horsepower and it's coupled with an eight-speed automatic transmission along with four-wheel drive. Bilstein Blackhawk e2 adaptive shock absorbers will be part of the RHO package and so will a tuned air spring suspension system that gives the rear axle up to 14 inches of travel.

True to its off-road mission, the RHO will have the highest ground clearance of all Ram 1500 pickups, coming in at 11.8 inches with the help of a suspension lift and 35-inch Goodyear Wrangler Territory all-terrain tires. The all-new Ram 1500 RHO will offer Fitchburg and Middleton buyers forged aluminum front control arms and a set of 18-inch beadlock-capable wheels. Performance won't measure up to the phenomenal Ram 1500 TRX but this truck can reach 60 mph in a respectable 4.6 seconds and will hit the quarter-mile in about 13.1 seconds.

The value of the RHO Equipment Group package

The new Ram 1500 RHO is available in one trim level but you can upgrade by adding the RHO Equipment Group package. It adds a lot of valuable features including heated and ventilated front seats, power-adjustable pedals, a head-up display and a bigger 14.5-inch infotainment screen. Other highlights in the package include a 360-degree exterior camera, rain-sensing windshield wipers, a higher level 19-speaker stereo system and adaptive cruise control. The package requires a significant investment but some Stoughton and Verona buyers will find it's worth the price, especially in light of the fact that the new Ram 1500 RHO costs quite a bit less than the TRX.

Towing and payload capability

The maximum towing capacity in the new 2025 Ram 1500 RHO is 8380 pounds which is enough to pull a speed boat. Of course, that falls short of the 12,750 pounds of maximum towing capacity in the standard Ram 1500 but it will be enough for many drivers. The gap isn't as wide when it comes to payload. The new Ram 1500 RHO can haul up to 1520 pounds which isn't too far behind the standard Ram 1500 with a payload of 2321 pounds.

Interior highlights

The Ram 1500 has made a name for itself by developing the most appealing interior of any truck in the full-size pickup class. The 2025 Ram 1500 RHO will offer that same strength in its only body style, a crew cab with a short cargo bed. The RHO will come standard with leather and suede upholstery and you'll be able to include interior options like upholstered dash panels and carbon fiber accents. The RHO Equipment Group package provides a higher level of luxury with features like massaging front seats.
