How does a vehicle get a Certified title?

A vehicle that's up for a certification review must be a recent model year so shoppers are getting the most up to date technologies and styles. The vehicle also cannot have been in any major accidents and there are also mileage restrictions to help ensure that the next driver can have the car, truck, SUV, crossover, or minivan for many more years.

After those prerequisites are checked off, the vehicle undergoes a stringent 125-multipoint inspection completed by a trained technician who checks major and minor vehicle components. To be more precise, they'll review qualification, mechanical, maintenance, appearance, and detail standards, as well as ownership materials.

Aside from knowing the vehicle has gone through a thorough inspection, the driver also gets extended warranties - 3-month/3,000-mile for maximum care and up to 7-years/100,000-miles for powertrain - and a Lifetime Certified Upgrade plan.  They'll also get a CARFAX report.
